Jonathan Russell's Profile
Jon Russell | Broker, The Courage Group at ONE Realty
Jon Russell grew up on Orcas Island, and if you know Orcas, you understand immediately that this isn't just a fun fact. It's a whole formation. The largest of the San Juan Islands, ringed by water, shaped by tides and ferry schedules and the kind of community where everyone builds something (a boat, a house, a business), Orcas has a way of producing people who think in systems and see beauty in how things are made.
Jon's family were builders and artists. He grew up watching things get constructed from the ground up, learning early that the difference between good and exceptional usually lives in the details most people skip. That lens is now one of his most valuable tools in real estate. He can walk through a property and read it the way a contractor does, which means his clients don't have to wonder what they're not seeing.
The Strategist You Want in Your Corner
Jon is the operational backbone of The Courage Group. While Leah is often the face clients find first through the @WaLiving YouTube channel or an initial conversation, Jon is the one who architects the process that makes every transaction actually work. He's a project manager at heart: calm under pressure, rigorous about details, and genuinely energized by complexity. The multi-layered deals, the tricky negotiations, the listings that require choreography across a dozen moving parts -- that's where Jon is most at home.
Clients describe him as steady, funny, and disarmingly direct. He doesn't oversell, he doesn't sugarcoat, and he doesn't waste anyone's time. What he does is prepare people deeply, so that when it's time to move, they move with confidence.
Built on the Same Mission
Together with Leah, Jon co-leads Washington's #1 real estate YouTube channel, @WaLiving -- a platform they built not as a marketing engine, but as a genuine resource for people trying to understand life and property in the Pacific Northwest. Jon handles the production side, and his builder's instinct for structure and craft shows up there too: clear, useful, made to last.
Their shared philosophy hasn't changed since day one: if you give people the information they actually need, the right clients find you, and they trust you before the conversation even starts.
"In real estate, success isn't just about the deal -- it's about the strategy, the process, and the people you serve along the way."
